More and more car companies are using harder paints that are more resistant to abrasion than clear coats. As paint technology improves, Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover has been reformulated to address mild to moderate swirls and scratches on these harder finishes. However, Pinnacle’s diminishing abrasive technology allows Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover to still produce minimal dust and minimal haze on all types of paint, including clear coats.
The Problem: You have noticeable swirls and light scratches in your vehicle’s finish. If your vehicle is older, it probably has water spots and light oxidation that has occurred over time and ruined the finish’s luster. These flaws are even noticeable to other people. You’ve tried mild abrasives and waxes but nothing seems to work. You don’t want to get the swirls professionally removed. That can be expensive. What you need is a product that really works!

Swirls come from using dirty towels or sponges on your vehicle, or from harsh chemicals and car washes. New finishes may even contain swirls. The secret to eliminating swirls is to smooth them so they do not reflect light. The imperfections are only visible when light bounces off them. A smooth finish does not have grooves that cause negative reflection. This is where Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover comes in. The thick cream contains millions of tiny abrasive particles that smooth the edges of the swirl or scratch so that it is even with the surface of the vehicle. No more edges to catch light. The abrasives found in Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover diminish as they work. You can’t compromise your clear coat because the abrasive molecules do their job and then disappear.
Tech note: A slight hazing or dusting may appear if you use your buffer at a greater speed than recommended. For the best results, use a variable speed buffer set between 4.5 and 5 OPM. We recommend the Porter Cable Variable 7424 Variable Speed Polisher or the Ultimate Detailing Machine. If hazing or dusting appears, apply Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish with a polishing pad afterwards but before waxing. This will remove the debris and get the surface ready for the sealing coat of wax.
Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover is a complete product in that it removes the swirl and polishes the surface so your vehicle looks like new again. And it won’t cause new swirls.
Directions:
We highly recommend using a buffer, like the Porter Cable 7424 Variable Speed Polisher or Ultimate Detailing Machine, with Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover for optimum results. Hand application may not produce enough friction to adequately break down the abrasives in the swirl remover.
With a buffer you’ll need the right pads to ensure that you are doing an effective job. Below we’ve recommended a couple of buffing pads that will enhance the performance of both your buffer and your Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover.
Lake County Orange Buffing Pads (LC-76-2165VC) are polishing and cutting pads intended for moderate swirls and scratches. Orange pads are just abrasive enough to smooth out medium swirls and scratches without being too rough. These pads are regarded as the buffing pad of choice in the auto care industry because they deliver consistent results on a wide range of paint imperfections.
Lake Country Yellow Cutting Pads (LC-46-572VC) are in a league of their own. Put these pads on your buffer and you’re ready to smooth out the worst swirls and scratches your car has to offer. Yellow pads combined with Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover will exfoliate old, dead paint and smooth out moderate spider webbing and scratches. When buffing your car, work evenly and carefully to ensure the best results. Remember, do not use a more abrasive pad than the job requires.
Machine Application:
- Pour a quarter-size amount onto an orange or yellow pad. You may also apply the swirl remover directly to the vehicle or in a circle on the pad. Spread the polish over the area you intend to polish with the machine turned off. This will reduce splatter.
- Set the maximum speed on the polisher to 4.5 or 5 (4500 to 5000 OPM). If using a rotary, set the speed to 1 or 1.5 (1000 to 1500 RPM). Set the pad on the paint and turn it on. Work in a figure eight pattern until the polish starts to dry,
- Make sure the polisher is off before lifting it off the paint. Mist the area with a half and half solution of water and isopropyl alcohol. Buff with a microfiber towel to inspect your results. If swirls are still visible, repeat the process.
Note: Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover will yield the best results on paint finishes that are in overall good condition with mild to moderate defects. If you find that your vehicle’s swirls are more pronounced than you first thought, use Pinnacle’s XMT Series Swirl Removers #2 and #3. Follow Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover with Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish if necessary and then a protective wax or paint sealant. Use Souveran Carnauba Paste Wax for a classic shine on red, black and dark cars. For people who prefer a paint sealant over a traditional wax, we recommend Wolfgang Paint Sealant. Top this sealant with a carnauba wax for an even more dramatic gloss. Your car will look better than it did the day you drove it off the lot!
